Ladybird Likes and is Stall 6. Lets find out a little more about them.

How did it all begin?

It began when I first started collecting vintage papers and ephemera – my love for all things old has long been ingrained in me, but this was when I realised I could make things inspired by that love. Ladybird Likes is the result of many years spent visiting car boot sales and junk shops, and being fascinated by the English countryside.

What are your all time favourite product you have produced?

I really love the postage stamp brooches – I bought a huge bag of stamps and really wanted to be able to show them off. But I think my favourite product is always the one I haven’t made yet – that’s what motivates me to keep making and experimenting.

What is your biggest achievement to date?

Ladybird Likes is still very new, so my biggest achievement is probably just having the courage to put myself out there and setting up my own little business.

What’s your best-kept secret?

My list of amazing car boot sales/charity shops/junk shops from which I source all the vintage elements I use in my pieces. Maybe one day I will share some of them, but for now they’re my little secret!

What is your dreams/plan for the future?

Like most small business owners I have huge plans for Ladybird Likes. I’d love to be stocked in stores all around the world, to be able to make a living from it, to be featured in magazines etc. But for now I’m happy just making things that I love.

Do you have any top tips to help other creative sellers?

Believe in yourself and your ideas. Cheesy, I know, but it can take ages for an idea to take off, and along the way you will meet people who tell you it will never sell or make you money. Trust your own judgement and work hard to make it work. Oh, and get used to not sleeping. I work from 9am till 3am on an average day, and much longer if I have an event or wholesale order to complete!
