Every month our Online Stalls showcase the very best creative sellers. This months theme is “The Power Of Love”, we have 18 talented creatives on show. Be sure to go and peruse the Stalls to find that perfect gift!
How did it all begin?
I’m a graphic designer by trade, and specialise in book cover design. I took the leap into going freelance about a year and a half ago, and started my etsy shop as a creative outlet for myself initially – I didn’t expect to sell anything really! But in the last few months its really started to gain some momentum – and what started as a hobby is developing into something more exciting.
What are your all time favourite product you have produced?
It would have to be my Best of Brixton print. I live in Brixton, and love everything about it – so I wanted to design something that captured its spirit and celebrates it. It’s also fast becoming one of my best selling items and has led onto a whole range of letters dedicated to other London areas.
What is your biggest achievement to date?
Probably having such a successful Christmas – being only a small start up it was a complete shock how much I sold!
What’s your best-kept secret?
I talk to my cat a lot…she gives me all my ideas….
What is your dreams/plan for the future?
This is the first month I’m going to have some of my prints in an actual shop, so I’m hoping to get stocked by more retailers in the future. Also hopefully at some point I’ll be able to get my own studio, as my flat is starting to struggle to accommodate all the tubes and boxes I need!
Do you have any top tips to help other creative sellers?
Get out there and do some craft fairs. They’re so much fun, and you meet so many likeminded people with great ideas that you can learn from. Its also a great chance to test new products – as you can see peoples immediate reactions to things.
